War, for Barack Obama, is simply a to-do on his calendar. In this he is as bad as any chicken hawk rushing to send our citizens to war, yet not willing to put themselves or their families at risk. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, I am personally offended that President Obama treats war as something to simply schedule on his presidential calendar.
During a surprise visit to Afghanistan in May, Obama said the war would be complete by 2014. “We have a clear path to fulfill our mission in Afghanistan” and “Our troops will be coming home.”
Over the past week Obama began stating explicitly that he’d have U.S. troops out of Afghanistan and home by 2014:

“I put forward a specific plan to bring our troops home from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
