Note from Staff, Pres­i­den­tial Elec­tion News: Due to some requests, I want to clar­ify the TV broad­cast infor­ma­tion for the upcom­ing Vice Pres­i­den­tial debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan on Thurs­day, Octo­ber 11, 2012. To put it suc­cinctly, the chan­nels and time will be exactly the same as for the Pres­i­den­tial debates. The VP debate will be 90 min­utes fol­low­ing a sim­i­lar for­mat as the Pres­i­den­tial debates.

Vice Pres­i­den­tial Debate Time: Thurs­day, Octo­ber 11 at 9pm et / 8pm ct / 7pm mt / 6pm pt.

Chan­nels: ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and more includ­ing CNN Espanol and others

Top­ics: The debate will cover both for­eign and domes­tic top­ics and be divided into nine time seg­ments of approx­i­mately 10 min­utes each. The mod­er­a­tor will ask an open­ing ques­tion, after which each can­di­date will have two min­utes to respond. The mod­er­a­tor will use the bal­ance of the time in the seg­ment for a dis­cus­sion of the ques­tion. See also Asso­ci­ated Press.
